🌪️ NC Severe Weather Preparedness Week 🌪️
March 1–7, 2026 is North Carolina Severe Weather Preparedness Week. This week is dedicated to helping everyone prepare for the possibility of severe weather, including tornadoes.
As part of this statewide effort, a tornado drill will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. for businesses and government agencies across the state. Our students at Malpass Corner Elementary will participate in this drill as well.
Practicing these procedures helps ensure that our Eagles and staff are prepared and know exactly what to do in the event of severe weather. Student safety is always our top priority! 🦅

🎓 Career Day at Malpass Corner Elementary
Career Day at Malpass Corner was absolutely amazing — even with the rain! ☔ Our Eagles had the opportunity to learn from incredible community partners including Pender EMS & Fire, North Carolina 4-H, Corning Incorporated, GE, and Focus Broadband, along with many others.
Our students asked thoughtful questions, explored different career paths, and made meaningful connections with professionals from across our community. We are so thankful for the time, energy, and support each presenter poured into our school.
It truly takes a village to help our Eagles SOAR, and today was a perfect example of that! 🦅✨
Our 4th Grade Eagles had an incredible experience at Moore’s Creek National Battlefield! Students rotated through hands-on colonial life demonstrations that truly brought history to life. After studying The American Revolution in our Arts & Letters Module 3, this field trip deepened their understanding in a meaningful and engaging way. Learning extends beyond the classroom walls, and our students made the most of every moment.

🐝✨ Learning is Buzzing in 3rd Grade! ✨🐝
Today, our amazing 3rd graders in Ms. Snyder’s class put on their scientist hats and explored what makes bees such incredible pollinators! Students discovered that bees use their hairy bodies and legs to pick up pollen as they move from flower to flower. 🌼
Our Eagles were engaged, curious, and full of great questions as they uncovered how these small creatures make a BIG impact on our environment. Way to go, 3rd grade scientists—your learning is creating quite the buzz! 🐝💛 #MCEEagles #HandsOnLearning #FutureScientists
