February 10th-14th Weekly Attendance Update

Part 2 of "Reptile Day" for 1st grade ... was Mrs. Havens sharing her daughter's axolotl. Our little Eagles love axolotls (thanks Minecraft!). Thanks to Ms. Tabitha and Mrs. Havens for sharing their "pets" ... This was a great way for students to make a real life connection to their Wit & Wisdom module in real life! #LearningIsBetterWhenOurTeachersShareTheirPets

Last week, 1st grade had a "Reptile Day" as part of their Wit & Wisdom studies. 1st grade is learning about "creature features" and all the different features animals have. At the Eagles Nest, our own Ms. Tabitha shared her 2 corn snakes and a bearded dragon with the classes! (Stay tune for part 2 of this post...). #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreTogether #DoYouHaveReptileDayatWork

A few pictures from BETA induction night ... before the ceremony. Last year's BETA inductees were on hand to support the new inductees. And today, the entire BETA team gets to work! 3:00 - 4:00 in the library. Service is one of the BETA pillars #Beingofserviceisbetterwhenwearetogether

More pictures from our BETA induction last night. #SOARingEagles

4th Grade dressed to impress today as they enjoyed a trip to the Wilson Center to listen to the NC Symphony. Afterwards was a perfect day for a park picnic lunch! Thank you to our music teacher, Mrs. Barnes, for organizing this memorable event for our students!

Malpass Corner Elementary held their 24-25 Elementary BETA induction ceremony last night. National BETA has 4 pillars: academic achievement, character, leadership and service. These Eagles have worked hard to meet the National BETA requirements for induction and we are so proud of them. (BETA students - service starts tomorrow after school - 3:00 - 4:00 in the library). #WeAcheiveAlotintheEaglesNest

Last week during Guidance (Social Emotional Learning) with Mrs. Meyer, students in Ms. Stewart’s class made unique puppets for the lesson on managing conflict. Students worked in groups to demonstrate they understand how to solve conflicts by role playing with puppets!

Drummmmmm roll for Eagles of the Week W: (2/3-2/7) who were achievers on the Bus/ at Car Riders. This may have looked like sitting quietly waiting to be called, walking not running to their cone, knowing where to go, watching for their stop, cleaning up their seat, etc. Way to SOAR Eagles. #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreTogetherBeingSafe

Last week we celebrated the 100th day of school with a special week of dress up. (More pictures from last week will be coming). Our team will complete against the other 8 elementary schools in the district. Between these team members, they have read 16 books, practiced countless hours and know 16 authors! Go Eagles!

We've got spirit - yes we do!

Day 2 of celebrating our 100 Days of School Spirit Week.

Last year ... month ... hehehe ... students in Mrs. Boerigter's class were learning about dictionaries! These were a staple last millennium and with the internet and Google, have almost become obsolete. 😁
