Our Kindergarten team celebrating 100 Days of Learning and Ms. Stewart doesn't look a day over "100 days" does she?

Look at Ms. Stewart's Kindergarten class! What a "change" from August! :) #100dayssmarter

A few pictures from Mrs. Robinson's class making Earth's layers using Playdough. (4th graders still love to play with playdough!!) Learning is fun in the Eagle's Nest!

No matter how you celebrate it, the 100th Day of School is cool! Eagles Soar!

Thursday, Feb 8th is the 100th Day of School (feel free to represent 100 with your dress) and it is our K-2 "Eagle for a Day" event for our families. (3-5 Day as an Eagle is Friday). #learningisfunintheEaglesNest

Our 4th & 5th grade classes were treated to a virtual author visit with Adrianna Cuevas. She read the first chapter of her book, The Ghosts of Rancho Espanto. Students were able to ask questions and learned a few writing tips. Fun fact, Mrs. Cuevas started writing in the 4th grade! She has written 6 books since 2020 and has written a new Monster High School book. What a great way to celebrate World Read Aloud Day!

Eagle families - its another CTE dress up week starting Feb 12th! Our Eagles LOVE to dress up! Mark your calendars and check your closets!!

Our Eagles of the Week were recognized for displaying self-esteem by maintaining positive relationships, being kind to self, and/or positive thinking/speaking. Way to soar! Attendance of the week stats show last week's Eagle Nest highest attendance classrooms and highest attendance for January. Keep sending our Eagles to school!

4th & 5th grade families - MCE's BETA Club is being reinstated! Today, invitations went home to qualifying students. Please read over the packet. The deadline is February 15th to pay dues & return signed forms.

On this first Friday of February, several staff dressed to celebrate Black History month.

Ms. Courtney's 4th grade class worked on a visual project in small groups where each group was assigned a mountain range and they had to research wildlife, safety tips, gear and facts about their mountain! This is part of 4th grade's Wit & Wisdom study unit on extreme environments

THANK YOU to PTO for providing staff with soup and breadsticks from Olive Garden today! Thank you to Mrs. Davis & Mrs. Everett for bringing the lunch and serving staff. We love our PTO!

CORRECTION TO THE TRY-OUT DATES!! We are so excited for our annual Talent Show Night because it is always a blast that we've rushed the tryout dates. Tryouts are Wednesday, February 28 & Friday, March 1 . Permission slips to participate in the talent show are due by Friday, February 16th to Mrs. Barnes. We're sorry for any eagles who panicked trying to get ready for today and Friday. Tell them they have a month to prepare!!
M*C*E Eagles have talent! YES! We Do!! 📣 Go! Eagles, Go!

Our Eagles of the Week for this week were recognized for being respectful. Way to SOAR! Also, this week's attendance report is attached. It is a close challenge!! Families - get those eagles to the nest on time everyday. It is a close race!!

Nurse Harrell has been a huge part of our Eagle Family since 2020 ("The Year of Craziness" as she called it.) During her time at MCE, she supported all of our Eagles and participated in a lot of shenanigans! After working with our students and becoming a mom to her own little Eagle, she has decided she wants to become a nurse midwife. With her new life path, Nurse Harrell's last day with us was last Friday and her family is moving to the UNC Hospital area. Nurse Harrell asked "please let it be known how much I love these kids and how much I'm going to miss everyone." We wish Nurse Harrell the best! (We have a new nurse, Amy Peterson, and we will share more information when she officially starts at MCE.)

Please join us for our upcoming Special Education Parent Advisory Committee #ExperienceTheExcellence

Our unplanned twins for this week happen to also be best friends! We made sure Mrs. Forinash & Mrs. Randall didn't switch-a-roo today! 😀

Ms. Beatty (K Instructional Assistant), Mrs. Vissering (3rd grade), Mrs. Locklear (Assistant Principal) & Mrs. Henry (Helping Hand) are our SOARing Staff of the Week for last week & this week! We appreciate our Eagle Staff!

Here are our Eagles of the Week for always SOARing in the hallway! Keep SOARING!

Congratulations to these 8 Eagles chosen to be part of the All County Chorus. These Eagles will be singing with students from each elementary school in Pender County. There will be a concert on April 26 at Heide Trask High School. Time: TBD.
