On Monday, January 13th, Cape Fear Elementary School hosted the Pender County Schools District Science Fair, bringing together our brightest young minds! 👩🔬🧑🔬 Sixty-one students competed after excelling at their school-level fairs, presenting impressive projects based on science experiments or engineering principles. "Learning is Better When We're Together!"
Weekly Attendance January 6-10, 2025

Hand clap and shout out to Mrs. Simpson and Mrs. White's classes who are the latest winners of the attendance challenge! These classes will have a special treat for spelling out "Attendance" (10 days of 95% or better attendance!). #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreTogether #WeNeedYourSoaringEagleatSchooleachday

We're back in the Eagles' Nest and the attendance challenge is back on! Classrooms with 95% attendance for the day earn a letter towards spelling out the word "attendance." Some classrooms are soooo close. A few classrooms had a lot of sickness before the break and hopefully the Eagles are all better and these classes can catch up. Every time a classroom spells out "attendance" ... the classroom earns a treat! (There are no limits to the times a classroom can earn a treat for attendance! ) A LOT happens everyday in the Eagles' Nest and we need your little Eagle at school! #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreTogether

Parents, many of your little Eagles have left their "feathers" around the school and we've collected them into this nice pile of "Lost and Found" for you! If your student is missing an item, please have them check the lost and found or if possible, you are welcome to come check through the stash. It is going to be cold this week and your little Eagle needs his/her feathers back. #LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreWarmTogether

We are so happy to have our Eagles back in the nest and to keep soaring towards the end of the school year! Remember, Learning is Better When We Are Together!

Sweater Day was a success and lots of fun for little Eagles and Teacher Eagles.
#LearningIsBetterWhenWeAreTogether

Did Mrs. Barnes and J plan this??

Mondays are for Grinches and Grinches are so cute in school!
#NoBadVibesJustGrinchFunVibes #LearningISFUNintheEaglesNest

All kinds of sightings in the Eagle's Nest as we are counting down to the Winter Break. Most recently, 1st grade had several Grinch sightings but with the smiles on their faces - we'd say the Grinch really has a big heart!

The Final Eagle of the Week drum roll for 2024 ..... Here's they are! Achievers in the Hallway! This may look like using an off or whisper voice, staying on the right side of the hallway, walking in the line with a calm body facing forward, etc. Congratulations to all of the Eagle's Nest for a wonderful 2024 year of SOARing!

More photos from 1st grade's fall trip to Hubb's Corn Maze

OOPS! The pictures didn't attach. (The Grinch stole them and then gave them back...) As we are nearing 2025, we want to remember the great times we have had in 2024. Here are some fall pictures from 1st grade's field trip to Hubb's Corn Maze. Always a fun time at Hubbs!

Learning IS Better When the Eagles are in the Eagles Nest! And this week is the BEST week to be at school! * The last 5 school days for 2024! * DRESS UP DAYS!! * So many classrooms are close to spelling "ATTENDANCE" and earning a treat! * K-2 performance! * PK holiday celebration! * Various Holiday Celebrations across the grades * Super SOARing Eagles Day * PTO Special Popcorn treat * Texas Roadhouse Gift cards returned to families *Lots of Excitement in the Air!

Various pictures from last week's dress up days. Our last 5 days to really dress up and show off that Countdown to the Holiday Break!

The Eagles Nest traded in their wings yesterday for ... HOOVES! There were so many reindeer sightings in the Eagles Nest yesterday we are surprised Santa himself didn't show up! We've also had cozy feet. And LOTS of green, red and white shirts. Countdown to the break is so much fun in the Eagles Nest! #LearningISBetterWhenWeAreTogether

As we are counting down to the break and ultimately to the new year ... here are some memories from just a little bit ago #HalloThankMasDoesExist #LearningISBetterWhenWeDressUP #TeachersDressUpToo

And we have another attendance winning class!! Ms. Brown's class is the latest class to win our attendance challenge! They have spelled the word "attendance" by earning a letter each day that their class has at least 95% attendance! Way to go, Eagles! We can't wait to celebrate your hard work with a sweet treat!

Up in the Eagles Nest, K-2 Reindeer practice , with a Santa and elves and all! Check out the risers for students to stand - we just need your student to perform next week! Mrs. Barnes is putting together another extraordinary K-2 program. Come out to the Eagles Nest next Tuesday night, December 17. Kindergarten will perform at 5:15 and at 5:30 will be the 1st and 2nd grades performance. All the students in K-2 are practicing daily and there is plenty of room for your little Eagle to perform!

Each morning, Mrs. West leads our morning announcements and gives the Eagles Nest its news for the day. This morning, the Eagles Nest had a special treat ... led by Mrs. Barnes, MCE students from All County Chorus sang the Star Spangled Banner during announcements. (If you watched the Board Meeting from last night, you saw these students singing during the opening.)
