💧 WATER UPDATE: The boil water advisory has been lifted for the schools affected by the water line break on Highway 421. Schools will continue operating on their regular schedules. Thank you to our families and staff for your patience, and to the crews who worked to restore water service. Hands on learning is happening in 4th grade! 4th grade students created a tableau of Dr Gross Clinic (as seen on the smartboard behind them) . They used chiaroscuro to analyze the foreground and background of the portrait. Dr Gross demonstrates what it means to have a great heart both literally and figuratively .

Early Dismissal Information for Malpass Corner Elementary
Good afternoon Eagle families,

As a follow-up to the district's earlier message regarding the water line break on U.S. Highway 421 near Blueberry Road, Malpass Corner will dismiss students early today, Tuesday, September 22.
Students will be dismissed at 12:20PM.

Please review the following important information regarding today's dismissal:

Buses will leave campus at 12:30, Car Rider pickup will begin at 12:20, there will be no afterschool such as PACES and 21st Century.

Pender County Schools is continuing to monitor the situation and remains in communication with Pender County Utilities.
At this time, the district plans to operate schools on a normal schedule tomorrow. District staff are preparing affected buildings to safely operate under the anticipated boil water advisory and will take the necessary precautions.
We will communicate any additional changes that may affect our school.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation.

This week, our 5th graders have been learning about North Carolina’s Native American tribes, including their traditions and ways of life. To bring their learning to life, students created their own pottery using air-dry clay!

We’re so proud of their creativity, engagement, and hard work during their first project! Great job, Eagles! 👏🏺
