
On Wednesday, HTHS welcomed 8th graders and their parents to an after school elective fair! Attendees were able to meet HTHS' elective teachers and learn more about how these classes can help students pursue their personal and career interests!



On Wednesday, HTHS welcomed over 150 eighth graders for our Transition Day! While on campus, the middle school students were able to ask questions to a panel of current HTHS students, meet school administrators and counselors, and even take a campus tour! It was a great day!

9th: Zyair McPhail
Zyair was nominated twice! He comes to our school ready to work hard, ask questions, and try his best.He constantly volunteers to help and has shown leadership qualities by setting an example to those around him. Zyair is kind to all. He truly displays the Titan DREAM principles. He has overcome many obstacles in his life, and yet, he always stays positive and shows up every day with a smile. Great job in your first year at HTHS, Zyair!
10th: Sophie Williamson
Sophie always has a positive attitude and shows leadership within the classroom. Sophie is a bright light to those around her.
11th: Gavin Cole
Gavin is a phenomenal student. He is very concerned with his studies, shows up with a positive attitude every day, and is just an all around good person. He truly is a pleasure to teach.
12th: Adela Cruz
Adela lives the titan dream daily! She is always there to help and is so observant. She is mature and responsible.Adela can be trusted to run errands and complete tasks. She never complains. She always has a positive attitude and encourages others around her to do the same.

"Mr. Cagwin is new to HTHS this year. He has lived and worked in many different countries and has a huge amount of experiences to share. He has jumped in with both feet to help both our school and students meet with success. He is a valuable addition to our Heide Trask Team. Thank you for all you do!"

Congratulations to our DREAMKeeper of the Week, Mrs. Hutnik!
"Mrs. Hutnik was nominated twice! She deserves to be recognized as Dreamkeeper because she always has a positive attitude and encourages others to do the same. She is always on the move, smiling, and giving her students her best even when she may not feel like it herself! She is incredibly patient and empowers students to do the right thing!! Mrs. Hutnik spreads positivity wherever she goes. Not only is she an amazing teacher, but she cares about the school climate. She coordinates Secret Titans and Titans of the Week because she knows that it's important to take care of one another and recognize each other's accomplishments. "

9th: Diego Gomez Reyes
Diego is a leader within the class, leading group discussions and helping those around him. He comes in with a positive attitude, ready to learn, and is not afraid to ask questions.
10th: Jayden Hoffman
Jayden is a strong member of the Titan team. She is both a member of the ROTC as well as the track team. She works hard and cares about her teammates and coursework. Good job, Jayden!
11th: Corrine Eaves
Corrine is a very hardworking student. She always goes above and beyond no matter what task she is completing. She dedicates her time and makes huge sacrifices for HTHS. Even when no one is looking she is always thinking of ways to make things better for our school. She is a role model for her peers and is dedicated to the FCA. She is an amazing and inspiring student.
12th: Matthew Noonan
Matthew was nominated twice! He does an awesome job as a TA. He comes in every day ready to work and be helpful. He is a super organized student who always has a good attitude. Matthew works incredibly hard even when he is not at school. He is organized and asks questions when needed to clarify his understanding. He shows great promise and seems to genuinely be passionate about learning.

"Mr. Cox was nominated twice. He brings great energy into his new role as an assistant principal at HTHS, and he has hit the ground running! He is building strong relationships with teachers and staff, and he communicates wonderfully! He has already helped out with so much at HTHS: weekly updates, buses, student concerns, maintenance requests, sports needs, and so much more. He is a genuine, hardworking, kind individual who cares deeply about his students and staff. He always checks in with teachers to see how he can be of service and he is dedicated to keeping students safe and successful. Thank you for being a wonderful Assistant Principal, Mr. Cox!"

9th: Annah Graham
Annah is a mature student who welcomes and befriends so many students. She always has a positive attitude, is helpful and thoughtful. We are lucky to have Titans like Annah!
10th: Ashley Houtaling
She is always kind and supportive of her peers and friends. She is one of the few students who asks me how my day is going
11th: Jaden Garbenis
Jaden saw a student arguing with his bus driver and took the initiative to stand up for his bus driver by telling that student to treat her with respect. Thank you for doing the right thing, Jay!
12th: Isaac Turner
Isaac is a strong math student that is always willing to help teach his classmates that are struggling in Pre-Calculus Honors. Even when he has to leave school early for basketball games, he takes the initiative to have his missing work completed the next day when he comes to class. He is a model student for the rest of his classmates.





This afternoon, Heide Trask High will take on county rival Pender High with games beginning at 4:30. Come out and support your Titans!
