A great way to wrap up Read Across America Week at CFE — pajamas, popcorn, and a PBIS celebration! Our Cubs enjoyed ending the week with fun and celebrating positive behavior. What a fantastic week!

Nothing better than fresh air and a good book. Ms. Jenkin's class were able to enjoy this beautiful day!

Ms. Terry’s class started Module 4 in Eureka squared and focused on organizing a collection of objects to help students count numbers up to 1,000.

Ms. Terry and Mrs. Lainey’s class had a special visit from Mrs. Valle-Green for Read Across America Week. Mrs. Valle-Green read in both English and Spanish to our students. What a treat!

Mrs. Hollifield’s class earned their next perfect attendance reward and earned snow cones on this beautiful day!

Today Mrs. Johnson’s class went outdoors to explore and observe the insects in our area. Students investigated different insect habitats, identified body parts and unique features, and discussed what they noticed about each insect. They also created detailed observational drawings to record their findings and practice their scientific observation skills. 🐞🌿✏️

First graders are learning about measurement. Mrs. McCall’s class took advantage of the beautiful weather this week by taking their math lesson outdoors. Students worked with partners to measure each other using non-standard units of measurement (centimeter cubes).

Mrs. Johnson’s class has completed another take-home project! For our insect study, students created some incredible 3-D insects and bugs. 🐞🐜🦋 The creativity, effort, and attention to detail were amazing! Thank you to our families for supporting our students at home while they worked on these projects. We loved seeing all the different insects come to life! Great job, everyone!

Wacky Wednesday at CFE was full of wild hair, mismatched clothes, and tons of laughter! Don't forget Hat Day Tomorrow!

Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for spending time with us at CFE today and helping us continue celebrating Read Across America Week as a special guest reader!

Good luck to our incredible Battle of the Books Team as they head to South Topsail Elementary today for the district competition!
We are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and teamwork. Go show them what Cubs can do!

This week we’re celebrating Ms. Pullen, our amazing School Social Worker!
Thank you for the compassion, support, and care you pour into our students, families, and staff each and every day. Your heart for our school community does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for the difference you make!
We appreciate you, Ms. Pullen!

Some silly socks pictures that were sent in. Don't forget tomorrow is Wacky Wednesday.

5th graders enjoyed a book “tasting” today to help prepare for an upcoming book project! Students walked around the room and had the opportunity to sample several different books.

Miss Jenkin's class participated in a Book Tasting activity previewing books for their upcoming book reports. Students had “Book Worms” while they went around and looked.

We kicked off Read Across America Week with Red, White & Blue Day. Our Cubs definitely showed up in style and school spirit! ❤️🤍💙

Help us celebrate our February Students of the Month. Great job Cubs!
