McGraner’s class had Nurse Shelley as a guest reader for 50 paws!

Mrs. Lawerence's homeroom earned 50 PAW prints 🐾 and had Mr. Greg come as a guest reader!

Attention everyone! We come to you with some bittersweet news… Our one and only Ms. Nichols is retiring!!!! Her last day is this Friday and we would love to send her off in a BIG way! After many years working in Pender County Schools, we know she means so much to so many and we’d love to invite anyone in the community whose lives she has touched to join us for her send off and light refreshments at 3:00pm on Thursday (see invitation) in the CFE multipurpose room. We know it will mean the world to her! Hope to see you there!

We will operate on a normal schedule on Monday, January 27th.
Class Picture Day, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 11th.
Fifth grade students will take the Science Check-In on Tuesday, January 28th. Students in grades 3-5 will take the Math Check-In Thursday, January 30th, and their Reading Check-In on Tuesday, February 4th.
Some reminders: When sending in absence notes, please be sure to include your child’s first and last name as well as the date(s) of the absence. Notes should be submitted as soon as your child returns to school. This helps us ensure their attendance is recorded accurately.
This is a reminder if you need to change your child’s transportation arrangements, please send a note to your child’s teacher. If a change must be made by phone, please contact us by 2:00 pm. Additionally, there are no checkouts after 2:00pm. When signing your child out, please remain inside the office.
This will be my final update as your principal. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve this incredible school community. Moving forward, all updates will come from Rhona Smith, the new principal of Cape Fear Elementary.
A Meet and Greet with Ms. Smith is scheduled for Thursday, January 30th, at 5:30 PM in the media center. We invite you to come and welcome our new principal!

✅ Tuesday, January 21: Early release for students. All after-school activities, including PACES and athletics, are canceled.
✅ Wednesday, January 22: Schools will operate on a two-hour delay at minimum.
We will provide an update on Tuesday if further changes, including remote learning, are necessary.

Yeah Ms. Thompson's Class! They earned their Hat Day reward for great attendance.

Ms. Coleman’s completed a “Water Cycle in a Bag” experiment to observe and learn the four different stages evaporation, condensation, precipitation and flow of the water cycle! Then they all drew a prediction picture of what they think their bag of water will do!




Third graders determined the main events of the Apollo 11 mission and put them in the correct order 🌖⭐️

Mrs Robertsons class continued to study the topic of clothes. They prepared a series of questions for a special visitor today. Deputy James came to visit to talk about his uniform and its importance as they dive deeper into the purpose of clothes. Children continued to work on developing fine motor skills, counting skills, and sorting by weather.

Students are learning about Lunar New Year's in music class. This year is the Year of the Snake! We can keep that snake moving to the music of Gong Xi.

On Monday, January 13th, Cape Fear Elementary School hosted the Pender County Schools District Science Fair, bringing together our brightest young minds! 👩🔬🧑🔬 Sixty-one students competed after excelling at their school-level fairs, presenting impressive projects based on science experiments or engineering principles.
