Kindergarten Orientation is happening now! Our team is excited to welcome our new friends for the 2025-2026 school year.

Attention RETURNING student parent/guardians: Please read and complete the mandatory information.

We are happy to announce that our Beginning-of-Year Information Packets for our RETURNING students are now all online and can be completed using any device with internet access, including phones with cellular data. Also, updates will now be synced directly into Infinite Campus once all information is verified at the school level. Please use the following directions to complete a Beginning of Year Information Updates application for EVERY RETURNING student attending a Pender County School. Parents/Guardians only have to complete one application for all their students! Just be sure that you add all students
in the one application.

New enrollments have already completed all of the information included in the B.O.Y. App. The
only time a new enrollment will need to complete the B.O.Y. App is if they have had a change in
address, phone, medical, or bus needs.

b. You may submit this application on your Parent Portal which can be accessed from the PCS website: pender.k12.nc.us and then Parent Portal.

2. Scroll down to Registration Application for 2025-2026 School Year

3. Select Start New Registration

4. Select 2025-26 Beginning of Year Updates

Please be sure to enter accurate and up to date information.

Every question must be answered before the application will be submitted.

Note any changes of student's health conditions (new or no longer existing), medicines
needed/or no longer needed at school, and/or any changes in dietary needs.

Please make sure to read all of the Release Agreements carefully. This platform replaces
paper forms for parents to complete and sign including: Chromebook Agreement, Medical
Release Agreement, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Annual Notification,
Field Trips Authorization

A Beginning of Year (BOY) Information Application must be submitted before your student(s)
will be issued a Chromebook. There will be no paper forms available.

📢 North Carolina law now requires all public schools to show safety education videos to students in grades 6–12 within the first five days of the school year.

🛡️ As part of the Protecting Our Students Act (S.L. 2023-128), these age-appropriate videos help students recognize and report signs of abuse, neglect, or unsafe situations and emphasize that reporting is always confidential.

🎥 Pender County Schools is committed to complying with this mandate and making sure students know how to stay safe and seek help if needed. Look for information from your school in your email or sent home with your student once classes begin.

Meet Mrs. Brenna Hopkins Assistant Principal, Cape Fear Elementary School At the center of my heart is being a wife, mother, and lifelong educator. I began my career in education in 2017 as a classroom teacher, where I discovered my passion for supporting students beyond academics. That passion led me to transition into school counseling, where I gained deeper insight into the social-emotional needs of children. Now, as a first-year assistant principal, I bring a unique perspective shaped by both classroom and counseling experiences. This dual lens not only strengthens my ability to connect with students but also allows me to support staff in meaningful, practical ways. I lead with the belief that all students can achieve success when their basic and academic needs are met. I am committed to the philosophy of radical candor—delivering high care while holding high expectations—for both students and staff. It is an honor to grow as both a person and a leader this year at Cape Fear Elementary School. I’m excited to partner with our families, staff, and community to help every child thrive.
