Hello Warrior Families, We have several important updates to share this week:
This week we honor those that have served our country in our armed forces. On Tuesday, November 11 schools will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.
Over the next couple of weeks, students enrolled in CTE courses will be participating in a short CTE Course Evaluation Survey during class. The survey is completely anonymous and will not collect any personal information from students. The purpose of this survey is to gather valuable student feedback to help us improve instructional strategies, classroom experiences, and CTE programming across the district.
If you prefer for your child not to participate in the survey, please complete this attached survey. Thank you for your continued support of Career and Technical Education in Pender County Schools.
Malpass Corner Elementary is hosting a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, November 22 from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM! The yard sale will take place at MCES and we would love to have as much community involvement as possible! There is obviously no obligation to take part in this event, but if you would like to participate, there are a few ways you can take part:
Reserve a seller’s space for $10 and keep 100% of your sales! (We are offering table rentals as well for an additional $5)
Donate items if you have things you’d like to clear out but don’t want to sell.
Spread the word to friends, family, neighbors, church members, etc. who might want to shop or sell!
We would like feedback on our school improvement plan. Please check out our school improvement plan and complete this survey to provide feedback.
Attendance Update
Last week’s attendance rates were:
6th Grade: 92%
7th Grade: 95%
8th Grade: 92%
We’re proud of our Warriors who are showing up ready to learn each day. Strong attendance is the foundation of success—every Warrior, every day! Let’s aim even higher this week.
Behavior Referrals
At WPMS, we believe in setting clear expectations and supporting positive choices. Teachers use many strategies to encourage success, but sometimes an administrative referral is needed. Last week’s referral counts were:
6th Grade: 2
7th Grade: 5
8th Grade: 5
