This week’s PCS Volunteer Spotlight recognizes Marsha Simmons for the time and support she continues to give to Topsail Middle School! 💙💛
Ms. Simmons is a familiar face at TMS events and has spent many hours helping the school’s media specialist with the annual book fair. Her dependable support helps make the event run smoothly while giving students another opportunity to get excited about reading. 📚
Her involvement doesn’t stop there. Over the years, Ms. Simmons has also supported Boosterthon activities, Bus Driver Appreciation and Teacher Appreciation Week, along with other PTO and school efforts.
Whether she’s helping with a major event or working behind the scenes, Ms. Simmons continues to give her time to support students, staff and the Topsail Middle School community.

Topsail Middle School received the all-clear this morning after a possible gas odor prompted the evacuation of students and staff.
The odor was traced to a burner in the school kitchen. The valves were turned off, the equipment is being inspected, and fire personnel cleared the building for normal operations.
Topsail Middle School families were notified directly by SMS and voice call throughout the situation. Thank you for your patience this morning,

On September 11, 2001, thousands of lives were lost, families were forever changed, and first responders answered an unimaginable call.
Today, Pender County Schools pauses to remember those who died, honor those who served and sacrificed in the years that followed, and recognize the families and communities who continue to carry the impact of that day.
For our students, September 11 is history. It is our responsibility to help them understand why we remember.

The Sept. 22 deadline is quickly approaching for required health forms and immunizations.
📌 Incoming Kindergarten students and students who enrolled from out of state must provide their school nurse with:
• A completed NC Health Assessment Form from within the past calendar year
• A copy of their updated immunization record
💉 All 7th and 12th grade students also have required immunizations that must be completed by Sept. 22.

Please contact your school nurse with any questions or to make sure your student’s records are complete.
