The Topsail High Drama Department will be hosting our annual “24 Hour Play Festival.” Students will have a limited amount of time to draft, direct, rehearse, and perform original works. The purpose of this event is to help our actors, technicians, and directors by providing them with a chance to develop their critical thinking, problem solving, multitasking, leadership, communication, teamwork, scriptwriting, improvisation, collaboration, and observation skills. It is a great learning experience for our students and one of their favorite events of the year. We want to make sure we have a great showing at our 24 hour Playfest. The students work so hard and we want to make sure they have a great showing. Please feel free to share and get the word out. Admission is free, but donations are greatly appreciated. We definitely need a good audience for this AMAZING event.

Congratulations to Mr. Luke Smith, Topsail High Public Safety Teacher. He has received one of the highest recognition in CTE for Pender County Schools, the Ronney Jones Achievement Award. Mr. Smith has exceeded every challenge/goal given to him. He keeps his students engaged in the classroom, bringing in incredible guest speakers and taking students on field trips for additional hands on learning. Because of his hard work Topsail Highs Public Safety program has grown and we are excited to be offering additional Public Safety course in the pathway.
