Surf City Middle School

Surf City Councilwoman Alicia Hawley generously donated her time and expertise with our student council this week! After helping us celebrate our girls basketball and boys soccer champions, she joined our weekly meeting to share her wisdom with us. Mrs. Hawley answered many questions about local government, elections, issues important to Surf City, and ways we can improve our student government. She gave us helpful insight into how we can more efficiently run our meetings to maximize impact and help us meet our goals. We're excited to explore a partnership with Mrs. Hawley and invite her back to help us workshop making agendas, assigning roles, and strategically planning to help us serve our fellow students and staff to the best of our ability. Surf City Middle School has a very dedicated group of student leaders (including Mrs. Hawley's son!), and we left this week's meeting feeling energized and renewed to make our school the best it can be.
