PENDER COUNTY, N.C. — Seven Pender County schools affected by the water line break on Highway 421 near Blueberry Road will operate on their regular schedules on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. A boil water advisory will be in effect at the affected schools.
The schools are Rocky Point Elementary, Heide Trask High, Pender High, Cape Fear Elementary, Cape Fear Middle, Malpass Corner Elementary and Pender Innovative Learning Academy.
Bottled water will be available at all schools. The boil water advisory will not affect lunch service.
Students should report to school as usual, and buses will run on their regular schedules. The district will share additional updates through its family notification system and district communication channels as needed.
