Malpass Corner Elementary

Malpass Corner Elementary is proud to welcome Ms. Paula King-Jacobs as our new principal!

A proud Pender County native and Pender High School graduate, Ms. King-Jacobs brings deep local roots and a strong passion for education to the role. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UNC Wilmington and holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, where she is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Ms. King-Jacobs began her educational journey right here in Pender County, spending 11 years teaching 5th grade at Cape Fear Elementary. Her dedication to student growth—both academically and emotionally—led her into leadership, where she previously served as the assistant principal at Malpass Corner. Now, in her 16th year in education, she returns to the Eagles Nest with great enthusiasm as principal.

Known for her belief in the power of strong school-home-community partnerships, Ms. King-Jacobs is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for every student. She looks forward to building on the strong foundation at Malpass Corner and working collaboratively to ensure student success.

Outside of school, Ms. King-Jacobs enjoys spending time with her husband, Jesse, and their three children—Gavin, Abrianna, and Jessica—all proud products of Pender County Schools.

Please join us in welcoming Ms. King-Jacobs back to Malpass Corner Elementary! We are excited for the leadership, heart, and energy she brings to our school community.
