Heide Trask High School is excited to announce that two of our graduating seniors have been selected for two of the most prestigious scholarship programs at NC State University.
Tania Ordaz-Martinez has been awarded the Goodnight Scholarship, a selective opportunity for exceptional students pursuing STEM fields. Students must be invited to apply, making this an especially prestigious honor. The Goodnight Scholarship funds the full cost-of-attendance for all four years at NC State. In addition to providing significant financial support, the program provides leadership development, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities designed to prepare students for impactful careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Tania plans to major in Animal Science with a goal of becoming a veterinarian.

Elber Lopez Paz has been awarded the Park Scholarship, a full cost-of-attendance scholarship that recognizes exceptional achievement in academics, leadership, service, and character. Selected from a competitive pool of students across the country, Park Scholars receive not only full financial support, but also access to leadership development, enrichment experiences, study abroad opportunities, and a strong community of scholars. The program is designed to prepare students to become impactful leaders both on NC State’s campus and beyond. Elber plans to major in business with a goal of pursuing investment banking.
This is a historic achievement for Heide Trask High School, as Tania Ordaz-Martinez and Elber Lopez Paz are the first students at our school to receive the Goodnight Scholarship and Park Scholarship, respectively. This extraordinary milestone is a testament to the talent, dedication, and promise of our students.
