BURGAW, N.C. — The two remaining classrooms at C.F. Pope Elementary School that had been closed for additional remediation have been cleared to return to normal use following the latest round of indoor air quality testing.
Rooms 121 and 127 were retested Thursday, August 27, after additional cleaning and corrective measures were completed. Pender County Schools received the laboratory results Friday.
Based on the results and review by the environmental professionals working with the district, both classrooms have been cleared to return to normal use.
The two classrooms had remained closed while additional remediation and corrective measures were completed. Students assigned to those rooms temporarily used other classroom spaces while the work continued.
With Rooms 121 and 127 now cleared, all classrooms at C.F. Pope Elementary are available for normal use.
