American Heart Association

C.F. Pope Elementary School has been selected as one of only three schools in the North Carolina's southeast region to receive a $2,500 Staff Wellness Grant sponsored by the American Heart Association. This competitive award recognizes schools that prioritize the health, well-being, and overall wellness of their staff communities.

The grant proposal was written by PE teacher Mrs. Tina Croom, whose commitment to securing meaningful opportunities for students and staff has been evident throughout the school year. In addition to this recent award, Mrs. Croom has successfully obtained multiple grants that continue to support both instructional initiatives and school-wide enrichment experiences.

Principal Ms. Moore shared her excitement about the impact this funding will have on staff morale and culture. The grant will support a Staff Wellness and Cultural Development Day scheduled for May at Drive Shack in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event, themed “Tee Up the Team,” is designed to promote relaxation, teamwork, and appreciation among staff members while strengthening school culture and connection.

This recognition reflects C.F. Pope Elementary’s ongoing commitment to fostering a positive, healthy, and collaborative environment for all employees.
