C.F. Pope Elementary is excited to announce that the school has received a $1,000 grant to support its school garden and campus beautification initiative. The grant was presented by members of the Master Gardener volunteer group alongside the NC Cooperative Extension Team. Tina Croom welcomed and received the group on behalf of the school.

The funding will be used to enhance outdoor learning spaces, expand the existing garden, and create a more vibrant and engaging environment for students. These improvements will support hands-on learning opportunities in gardening, environmental stewardship, nutrition, and teamwork—skills that help foster curiosity, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the natural world.

The project aims to enrich students’ daily experiences and strengthen the school’s commitment to providing meaningful, real-world learning opportunities. C.F. Pope Elementary looks forward to beginning the next phase of the beautification effort and sharing updates as the garden continues to grow.
