Four teacher leaders from C.F. Pope Elementary School—Tina Croom (Physical Education), Rachelle Snipes (Kindergarten), Katie Billig (2nd Grade), and Amanda Solomon (3rd Grade)—recently represented the school at the World View K–12 Symposium, a statewide professional development event focused on equipping educators with strategies to prepare students for an interconnected world.
The symposium brought together educators from across North Carolina to explore innovative teaching practices that foster global awareness, cultural understanding, and student engagement. Participants engaged in dynamic sessions that connected classroom instruction with global themes such as sustainability, technology, and cultural literacy.
Thanks to scholarship funding provided by the Anonymous Trust, the four C.F. Pope teacher leaders were able to attend this transformative experience at no cost to the school. The opportunity allowed them to collaborate with educators from diverse districts and return with fresh insights to strengthen instruction and student learning at Pope Elementary.
“We are incredibly proud of our teachers for their commitment to professional growth and innovation,” said school administrators. “Their participation in the World View Symposium not only enhances their teaching but also enriches our entire school community.”
The knowledge and strategies gained through this experience will support continued excellence in teaching and learning at C.F. Pope Elementary—empowering students to think critically, act compassionately, and see themselves as part of a global community.
