Good afternoon everyone, we just administered a very successful math eog. Our students did a wonderful job coming to school prepared and we had a great testing atmosphere. We have had a wonderful year and look forward to our end of year celebrations. Last year, we finished in the top 10% in the state for overall school growth, top 9% in math growth and top 2% in reading growth. We have those very same high expectations for this year. Please partner with us in keeping our students prepared and focused to end the year. Once again, let’s demonstrate to our district all of the great things happening in our Rocky Point community.
Athletics - Our end of year athletic banquet is May 20th. Coach Bell and our athletic staff have planned a great event to recognize our student-athletes. We are in the final month of school before summer break, but luckily there are still spots available for students interested in attending the free two week Career Academy summer camp provided by Cape Fear Community College from July 14th-18th and July 21st-25th.
The camp allows current middle schoolers to spend time on a college campus, learning about a range of potential careers (like software developer, costume designer, engine mechanic, and pastry baker) from real college instructors. Transportation is provided by Pender County school buses, and there are free snacks/meals provided for students each day.
If a student hasn't already applied, they can get a paper copy of the application from a CTE teacher or guidance counselor, and parents can also fill out a form online at cfcc.edu/careeracademy to register. Upcoming EOG testing schedule-
We are in need of proctors to ensure a successful EOG testing environment. Test proctors help to monitor students during our test sessions. Test sessions will run from 7:30-11:30. 25th Anniversary
We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating our school's 25th anniversary during the 2025-2026 school year! As part of our celebration, we will be selling cookbooks featuring recipes from our families.
We would love for you to contribute your favorite recipes! Please send them to Ms. Julien by May 16th. You can email your recipes to jennifer_julien@pender.k12.nc.us or drop them off at the front office. Just a reminder to ensure that all recipes are legible.
