Malpass Corner Elementary School

Avery Ellington is a Wilmington native (one of the few still left) and attended Laney High School before earning her degree from UNC Wilmington.  She began her teaching career with Pender County schools in 2003 as a 5th grade teacher at CF Pope.  After her fifth year of teaching she decided to return to UNCW for her Masters in Administration.  As an Assistant Principal, she worked at CF Pope, South Topsail, Cape Fear Elementary and Malpass Corner, where she then became the Principal and has been ever since. 

This year marks her 21th year with Pender County Schools!

Ms. Ellington has two daughters, who attend Malpass with her, Harper who is in the 5th grade and Hali who is in the 3rd grade.  The Ellington's enjoy living in Pender County and North Carolina, because they love the beach and the mountains, both of which they visit regularly.  They also enjoy spending time with their family and friends, attending concerts and traveling.
