Greetings Burgaw Middle School Families,

My name is Brian Allen, and I am very excited for the opportunity to begin my second year as your principal of Burgaw Middle School. It is my goal for us to work together to help our students succeed. I look forward to building relationships with families. By working together to support our students, we will create a pathway for their success.

I am a Wilmington native. I received my bachelor's degree and masters degree from UNC-Wilmington, and I am currently working on my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. Go Seahawks! I began my teaching career with Pender County Schools at Cape Fear Elementary School (CFES) as a third grade teacher. While at CFES, I taught 3rd and 4th grade. I then moved to Topsail Annandale Elementary School as their Assistant Principal for three years. From 2018-2023, I was dedicated to opening Surf City Elementary School and helping to create an educational identity. This past year at BMS, we found much success and we look forward to adding to that success this school year. My wife and I live in Wilmington and we love spending time at the beach.

Please trust that I bring high expectations for our students, the Burgaw community, and for myself. I will hold students and faculty accountable for their very best efforts each and every day. We will operate in a safe environment that is focused on excelling in academics at all times. I am looking forward to a great 2024-2025 school year. Go, Red Devils!
